William R. Quartaro, 92, of Bronxville and Montauk, New York, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2026.
Born in the Bronx, New York, to Joseph and Laura Quartaro, William was raised with a strong sense of family, community, and determination. He attended Mount St. Michael Academy, where he was an accomplished student-athlete, playing football and competing in track. He later attended Manhattan College, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.
William built a successful career in accounting. He worked for many years at Wellington & Co. before establishing his own tax and accounting business, where he enjoyed working with and helping his clients for many years.
William was devoted to his family and cherished the life they built together. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 65 years, Mary Anne (Harold) Quartaro; his son, Joseph Quartaro; and his brother, Peter Quartaro.
He is survived by his daughters, Mary and Laura, and his grandson, Andrew Thomas, who brought him great joy and pride.
William especially loved spending time at his home in Montauk, a place that held a special meaning for him. He enjoyed the beauty and peacefulness of the East End and, most of all, being out on the open ocean fishing. Whether surrounded by family or enjoying a day on the water, William appreciated the simple pleasures of life and the places and people that meant the most to him.
He will be remembered with love by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
