Murphy, Evelyn August 15, 1941 - October 22, 2025

Evelyn Erika Murphy 84, of Bronxville, NY, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 22, 2025.

Erika Murphy was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Born in Berlin, Germany on August 15th, 1941 to Irma (Fruggel), and Hans Erich.

As a devoted wife, mother and friend, Erika dedicated her life to family and friends and animals in need. She will be remembered for her way of spreading love and kindness wherever she wentand her gift for making you feel special.

Her true legacy is the way she spent tireless energy in animal rescue, finding homes for or visiting shelters to walk and spending time with dogs who have no real home.

She is survived by her loving sons, Kirk Bedevian and Thomas Murphy, her grandchildren Brett, Brandon, Tommy, Ryan and Meaghan, and her brother Hans Erich. She was preceded in death by husband Richard Murphy.

We find comfort in the beautiful memories she leaves behind and in knowing that her spirit will continue to inspire us. Rest in peace, dear Erika. You will always be in our hearts.

In lieu of flowers, the family has set up a Go Fund Me page for donations to be directed to Best Bullies, which was a dog rescue organization close to her heart: https://gofund.me/bad3a6012

Evelyn was a amazing person. We met many years ago when her husband Richard worked with my husband. They would visit us at the Jersey Shore, Always an amazing cook. They always felt like family. May Evelyn rest in peace and be rejoined with her beloved Richard. One great lady.

I worked with Erika for many years. She was intelligent, interesting and always cheerful. She always seemed to have time to help with any problems that arose. It was a privilege to know her. My thoughts are with her family at this sad time.
