With a sunny smile that brightened lives, Ioanis (John) Konstantellis was born December 18, 1935 and fell to sleep December 30, 2023.
He is survived by Renate, his wife of sixty years, son Edward, grandchildren Michelle and Michael, brothers Paul and Nick, nieces and nephews Stavro, Louis, Stavroula and Maria.
John was born in Lemnos, Greece to Leonidas and Stavroula Konstantellis. He kept in close contact throughout his long life with his brothers and extended family.
John immigrated to the US In 1951, being only fifteen years old. He learned various trades from automotive assembly to floristry. He purchased a NYC medallion taxi in 1971 and loved serving the public for thirty-three years until his retirement in 2004.
He lived on the upper west side of Manhattan where he met his wife in 1963. They moved to Eastchester, NY in 1972 where they called home ever since. Throughout their marriage they explored everything, traveled everywhere together and made many great friends.
John was filled with love, warmth and compassion, always greeting everyone with a smile. He will be sorely missed by all his friends and family.
