Jean Kearney Allison,l on January 6, 2013, Jean Kearney Allison, a lifelong resident of Yonkers, New York passed away at her home. Jean was pre-deceased by her parents, Frank and May Kearney; her sister, Lynne Ryan; and her loving husband, Tom Allison, a former police officer with the Yonkers Police Department. Jean is survived by her twin brother, Frank Kearney (Beverly) of Guilford, CT and Fort Lauderdale, FL. And on the Kearney side of the family, she is survived by seven nieces, Kerry Carney (Tom), Maureen Mamet, Jeanmarie Roberson (Alan), Marilyn Lamberta (Charlie), Dianne Vanadia (Vinny) and nephews, Barry Ryan (Suzanne), Kevin Ryan (Kristin) and 15 grand nieces, Cheryl, Christina, Julia, Katelyn, Marissa, Lauren, Elizabeth, Laura, Michelle and grand nephews, Patrick, Nick, Michael, Brian, Matt, Tom. Jean is also survived by many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews on the Allison side of the family. A 1947 graduate of Gorton High School in Yonkers, Jean was an Executive Assistant who worked for General Foods/Kraft for over 35 years before her retirement. She was a communicant of Christ the King Church in Yonkers where she served as a volunteer and a parishioner for over half a century. A kind and loving person who was deeply religious, Jean was a lay nun who spent many hours each day in prayer. Saint Anthony was one of her favorite Saints. Jean was loved by her whole, extended family and we will all miss her cheerful smile and her caring, positive and generous outlook on life. The calling hours will be held at the Fred H. McGrath & Son Funeral Home in Bronxville, NY on Thursday, January 9th, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Christ the King Church in Yonkers, N. Y. on Friday, January 10th at 10:00 am, followed by burial in St. Joseph’s cemetery.
