Anne Daly was a loving wife, mother, devoted daughter and friend. She left this world after a short illness on May 15, 2021 at age 95.
She was born to Hedwig and Gustave Stonig on January 15, 1926 in the Bronx, NY. She attended Washington Irving School in Gramercy Park, was a graduate of the School of Industrial Art on the Upper East Side and went on to work as a secretary at various NYC firms.
On her 23rd birthday Anne met Joseph Daly at a dance at The Concourse Plaza Hotel in the Bronx. They married in 1953 and had two daughters, Pamela and Valerie. After living in the Highbridge and Co-op City neighborhoods of the Bronx the family moved up the road to Yonkers in 1980 where Anne remained for 40+ years.
Anne was a sporty woman who, well into her senior years, enjoyed paddleball, ice skating, swimming and walking. She was also a cat lover and theater fan.
Anne will be remembered for being a forthright, funny and a feisty lady.
Anne is survived by her daughters Pamela Daly of Hartsdale, NY, Valerie Daly of Brighton, England and her caring friend Robert Asencio of Bronx, NY. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph, brother John and beloved twin sister Margarete Bastino.

May 17, 2021 at 8:03 pmI knew Mrs. Daly, when I lived 829 and we would talk all the time. When I moved out of the building, and moved at 671, I would run into your mom often. We’d catch up on building gossip which I knew and she never did. I remember one time she was going out dancing with Richard and she’d tell me her age and would say Richard was her second love. Oh, your mom was full of life and such a special person to me. I will truly miss her.
