John C. Dircks, on June 20, 2013, after a brief illness. Beloved husband of 55 years of the late Joan Dircks, father, grandfather and great grandfather. John was born in New York on September 6, 1923 and worked for the Equitable Life Assurance Company his entire career before retiring in 1979. John also served in the United States Navy during WWII. John was predeceased by his brothers Robert and Richard. He is survived by his four children, Donna (Sasso) of Purchase, NY, John of Cary, NC, Mary (Beardsley) of Ashburn VA and Kevin of Stewartsville, NJ as well as ten grandchildren, Christine, Michael, Meghan, Kathleen, Mark, Anne, Andrew, Thomas, Brendan and Kieran and six great grandchildren, Michael, Bohn, Olivia, Mia, Lila and Adeline. John is also survived by his sister Georgette. Calling hours at the Fred H. McGrath & Son, Funeral Home, Bronxville, between the hours of 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm Saturday. Mass of Christian Burial, St. Eugene’s Church, Tuckahoe Road, Yonkers, on Monday June 24 at 10 am.
