Marguerite (Marge) Van Arsdale Pohlmann, of Bronxville, formerly of New Rochelle, on November 23, 2017. Beloved wife of the late Robert Pohlmann. Loving mother of Kathleen (Dennis) Winter, Robert (Diane) Pohlmann, Jr. and Tom Pohlmann, devoted grandmother of Colleen O’Connor, Meaghan Winter, Marguerite Sahinkaya, Kaitlin Winter, Dennis Winter, Jr. and Matthew Winter, great grandmother of Maeve and Sean O’Connor. Marge was predeceased by her older brother John (Jack) Van Arsdale and his wife, Alyce. Dear Aunt to many nieces and nephews, and a loved cousin. Born in New Haven, Ct. on December 22, 1925, to Harrison and Mary (Burke) Van Arsdale. She was a proud graduate of the St. Francis School, Hillhouse High School, both in New Haven and the College of New Rochelle. After college, Marge went on to have a long and enjoyable career in New York City. In addition, she was a volunteer tutor, Girl Scout leader, and delivered Meals on Wheels. She was a very active member of Holy Family Church, New Rochelle, where she was a Eucharistic Minster. After moving to Bronxville, she enjoyed being an active member of St. Joseph’s Church. She was also a member of the Bronxville Senior Citizens, as well as a long-term member of her beloved Larchmont Shore Club. Marge loved New York City, opera and classical music, traveling, tennis, and swimming. She swam every summer in Long Island Sound until her late 80’s. Marge had many special sayings, one of which was “be good to yourself”.
Calling hours at the Fred H. McGrath & Son, Funeral Home, Bronxville, are between the hours of 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm this Friday.
Mass of Christian Burial, will be at St. Joseph’s Church, Bronxville, on Saturday, December 2nd at 9:45 am.

Marge’s family is very grateful and thankful for the loving care she received while at the Meadowview at the Wartburg, and St. Cabrini Nursing Home.
