O’Leary, Irene E. September 19, 1939 - July 27, 2023

Irene E. O’Leary of Dublin/Bronxville left this world on July 27, 2023.

Irene’s light will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew her, especially her beloved family: husband, Michael, sons, John (Eileen) and Owen, and grandchildren, Michael and Caitlin. Irene was met in heaven with open arms by her son Brian, sisters Miriam, Joyce, and Celine, and brothers Michael and Robin.

Irene is also survived by her brother, George and sister Deirdre in Ireland. Her 32 nieces and nephews in Ireland and Australia particularly adored their Aunty Irene, and the feeling was mutual.

Irene was loved by all who knew her. We will forever remember her beauty, grace, and laughter.

To the O’Leary and English families, I was so very sad to hear of Irene’s sudden passing. My mum, Carmel (Bracken) Fleming was Irene’s childhood friend from Orwell Gardens, Dublin. I loved hearing the stories of their childhood antics and looked forward to receiving her thoughtful Christmas card each year with a picture of the family on the front. To dear Michael and All the Family, no mere words can adequately convey my heart felt condolences to all of you on the tragic loss of your beloved Irene nor the deep sense of shock and sorrow I feel at her passing. She was a beautiful person; full of warmth; loving kindness and a wonderful hostess.Brendan and I so enjoyed visiting LBI or Chester Place where she entertained us royally. Her wonderful sense of humour, fun and ability to mimic accents as she told jokes kept us all in stitches while being wined and dined with marvellous food.
I remember thinking how angelic she looked on her wedding day and can now say almost 60 years later that indeed for her whole life she was a human angel; happy, outgoing, generous, unselfish and loving. I know also that she has now joined the hosts of heavenly angels. May she Rest in Peace. Again, my most sincere sympathy and
    prayers for Michael and family.
