Eleanor Limato – Obituary
Eleanor Limato (Borsella), a lifelong resident of Mount Vernon, New York, passed away
peacefully at home on November 25, 2025, at the age of 98.
Born on September 1, 1927, in Mount Vernon to Ralph Borsella and Emma Borsella
(Tanno), Eleanor grew up in the company of her sister, Yolanda Carpino (Borsella), and
brother, Ralph Borsella. She graduated from A.B. Davis High School in 1945 and soon
after met the love of her life, Richard C. Limato. The couple married in 1949 and shared
a devoted partnership that spanned 54 years.
Eleanor began her professional life working for the Social Security Administration in
New York City. However, she devoted the majority of her life to her family, serving as a
loving wife, mother, and homemaker. She raised her two sons, Richard J. Limato and
Ronald J. Limato, creating a warm and welcoming home that extended to friends and
family alike. Known for her generosity and unwavering kindness, Eleanor was always
ready to offer support to those in need.
Eleanor’s passions included cooking and baking, as well as knitting and crocheting,
crafts through which she expressed her creativity and care for others. She cherished the
summers spent at the shoreline in Westbrook and Clinton, Connecticut, where she
created cherished family memories.
Eleanor was predeceased by her husband, Richard C. Limato; her parents, Ralph and
Emma Borsella; her sister, Yolanda Carpino; and her brother, Ralph Borsella. She is
survived by her sons, Richard J. Limato and his wife June, and Ronald J. Limato and
his wife Arlene; her three grandchildren, Amanda, Rick, and Lauren; her two great-
grandchildren, Lucas and Leo; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, New York,
on Friday, December 5, 2025 at 10:30am.
