Gemborowski, Pauline March 8, 1924 - June 12, 2023

Pauline Gemborowski (Maggiola), 99 years of age, died peacefully on June 12, 2023.  She was born in Manhattan and a long time resident of Yonkers, NY and later, Eastchester NY.  She attended Sacred Heart Grammer School and Commerce High School. She was employed with Otis Elevator Company for over 30 years until the plant closing.   During her employment there she worked on many projects but was most proud of having made the coils for the elevators for the World Trade Center.

Pauline was an amazing cook and hostess and loved entertaining family and friends at her home for every holiday and special occasion.  Her love of music and dancing  was infectious, as was the joy she got with gardening and spending time with family and friends.  She was devoted to her big family, but especially her husband and daughter.  She enjoyed every day of her 99 years.  Her smile and laughter lit up the room and she brought much happiness to anyone whose life she touched.

She was a member of Lake Isle Country Club after taking up golf later in life. She was so excited to be one of the lucky few to have a hole in one. She married Julius (Al) Gemborowski in Oct 1953 at Sacred Heart Church and began her lifelong romance with her husband until his death in 2007.  She is predeceased by 8 brothers and sisters and was the daughter of Jerome and Marie Maggiola.  She leaves her devoted daughter, Deborah Gemborowski, with whom she lived in her later years, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends whom she loved dearly. Aunt Pauline was a joy to be around. Her bright smile with a hint of mischief in her eyes always lit up whatever room she inhabited. She will be greatly missed but always remembered with love in our hearts.

Vivian will always remember her when she makes the Genovese pesto.

      Love you Debbie.
