William C. Collins, age 79, of Larchmont, NY and Fleetwood, NY on Dec 17, 2012. Loving husband of Alma (nee Cunningham).
Survived by twin brother John Collins and sister in-law MaryEllen Collins, their son, nephew Timothy Collins and brother Thomas Collins, Sr., pre deceased by his sister, Roscranna Collins. Cherished uncle of Peter, Kathryn (nee Prendergast), and the late Thomas Collins, Jr. Cherished grandfather of Shannon O’Connor. Beloved step-father of Jeanne, Susanne and Michael O’Connor. He will also be missed by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and loving friends. Retired Daily News employee of 3 decades. Bill was the founder of the Colonial Village Tenants Association, a devout Catholic, Auxiliary police committee member and a Lifelong Republican who ran for public office. Bill was a precious friend to the entire community as well as his co-workers, as he touched many lives. Calling hours the Fred H. McGrath & Son, Funeral Home, Bronxville, between the hours of 5 to 9 pm Friday. Mass of Christian Burial Sts Peter & Paul Church, Fleetwood on Saturday Dec. 22 at 10 am.
