Whamond, Patricia “Cookie” Glennon, died peacefully on November 26, 2018 after a long illness. Beloved wife of the late James D. Whamond, loving mother of Helen Boucher (Norman), James D. Whamond, Jr. (Julie), W. Tobin Whamond (Ashley), Patricia Burnell (Matthew) and Catherine Walsh (William). Grandmother of Caroline and Mary Allison Boucher; Martha and Claire Whamond; Alex and Anna Uman; Georgia Jane, Smith, and Piper Whamond; Jeb, Catherine, and Elizabeth Burnell and Billy Walsh. Cookie was preceded in death by her sister Helen Malloy and is also survived by her siblings Marion Glennon, Nancy McIntosh, Stephen Glennon, Charles Glennon (Kate), Frances Dunlop and her brother-in-law Thomas Malloy.

Cookie was born in New York City, the daughter of the late Helen and Stephen Glennon. She graduated from the Convent of the Sacred Heart and Trinity College, Washington, DC. She worked for IBM and, after her marriage, moved with her family to many cities in the US. After her husband’s death, Cookie moved to White Plains, NY, and then Greenwich, CT, and more recently to Needham, MA.

Cookie was a long time member of the Junior League, and a member of the Twig organization of United Hospital in Port Chester, NY. An active member of Resurrection Parish in Rye, NY, Cookie served on several committees, including the Outreach Committee.

Cookie’s smile endeared all and she made many friends in all the cities she lived. She was admired greatly for her spirit in facing the constant challenge of her many illnesses. We are especially grateful to the doctors, nurses and caregivers who did so much to help Cookie

Cookie was part of a great Larchmont family. I spent many happy hours playing at the Glennon’s house when I was a child with Cookie and her siblings. RIP, Cookie. You have earned your crown!
