Tellis, Vivian A., MD January 2, 1939 - May 4, 2022

Dr. Vivian A. Tellis (Ian), 83, died in Calvary Hospital on May 4, 2022 after a long illness. Born in India, he graduated from All India Institute Medical School and migrated to the USA. He was a kidney transplant surgeon at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx.

He was predeceased by his parents, Monica (Mascarenhas) and Vivian Tellis, his brothers, Sydney and Trevor and his first wife Patricia (Gioscio) Tellis. He is survived by his devoted wife Patricia (Poole) Brown Tellis, his cherished daughters Audrey (Lou) Boniello and Eileen, his grandson Jamie, granddaughter Kamiryn, his great grandson Noah Almanzar and his granddog Dozer, his brother Winston (Kathy) of CT, his sister Joan of India and Beata of Australia and many nieces and nephews.

Besides being a brilliant transplant surgeon, Ian had many hobbies, singing with the Westchester Chordsmen, an origami aficionado, doing jigsaw puzzles and traveling with his current wife. He was always smiling. He will forever be loved and missed. Calling hours at the Fred H. McGrath & Son Funeral Home, Bronxville between the hours of 2 to 6pm. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph’s Church, Bronxville on Monday May 9, 2022 at 10:45am.
