James E. Smith passed away peacefully in Fairbanks on October 23, 2020. He is survived by his son Rob and his sister-in-law Madeleine Wingertzahn. His nieces Jennifer (Stabler), Marianne Wingertzahn and his nephews Tom, Bill and Michael Wingertzahn and their spouses and children. Jim was predeceased by his wife, Suzanne (Melly) in 2004. He was further predeceased by his brother Bob and his parents, James T. and Mildred F. Smith.
Jim and his family were former residents of Bronxville, NY. He was a marketing executive for many years spanning a career with a number of the leading cosmetic and fragrance organizations. Jim was further involved with “Swim Across America”, a volunteer organization dedicated to raising awareness and funds in the fight against cancer.
Calling hours at the Fred H. McGrath and Son, Funeral Home, Bronxville, between the hours of 9 to 10:30 am of Friday. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Church, Bronxville, on Friday, November 6th at 10:45 am. Interment to follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Valhalla, NY
