Peter Sheridan, passed away on February 13th at the age of 86. Peter was born on December 29, 1937 in New York, NY. The son of Patrick and Nora Sheridan, both born in Mayo, Ireland, he cherished his Irish heritage.
Peter was the devoted husband to his wife of 62 years, Kathleen, loving father of Patrick (Carol), Peter, who predeceased him, Brian (Doreen) and Kathleen Coyne (J Collins), and doting grandfather to his 15 grandchildren, Samantha, Julia, Sean (Alexandra), Jessica, Nora, Jackie, Delia, Kiera, Kathlyn, Emma, Megyn, Catriona, Ella, Grayce and Sara.
He served with the FDNY for 27 years, earning the rank of Lieutenant, and was a founding member of the FDNY Emerald Society Pipes and Drums. He had the great pleasure of playing with the band on the Ed Sullivan Show in 1967.
He was the youngest of four, predeceased by his brother John (Shirley), and sisters Katherine Doody (Patrick) and Beatrice Sheridan.
Those he loved say that his entry to heaven was guaranteed by the laughter and love he brought to those lucky enough to know him.
Visitation will be held at Fred H. McGrath & Son, Inc., Bronxville on Monday, February 19th from 2pm-6pm. Funeral Mass to be held at St. Joseph’s Church, Bronxville on Tuesday, February 20th at 10:45am. Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation or Alzheimer’s Association.

My mother, Mary O’Malley (nee Gavin) Roigh Co.Mayo, was Peters cousin.
May God grant them all eternal Rest.

We had some good times with peter and Kathleen down the years in America and here in Ireland. May he rest in peace.
