Franklin Rosado passed away on March 19, 2018 at the age of 82. Franklin was born in Lares, Puerto Rico, la ciudad del grito, home of the 1868 pro-independence from Spain uprising. Franklin carried that fighting spirit with him when he moved to New York City as a child. He grew up in New York City, the middle child of Genara and J. Mariano Rosado (deceased) and was the brother of the late Aida Diaz, Josie Rosado, Henry Rosado and Mary Iorio. In 1963 he married Nelly Maruri in Guayaquil, Ecuador. He is the beloved uncle and cousin to many. While serving in the US Army (1956-1958), Frank discovered his career as a Nurse Anesthetist. He graduated from Brooklyn College and had an illustrious career. Frank was a talented fine artist, and enjoyed gardening, visiting museums, zoos, and travel. He had an unparalleled lust for life and loved playing the bongo drums and salsa dancing. An animated storyteller, he loved to share stories of growing up in Lares and in NYC.
