Milagros ‘Mila’ Zita Rodriguez, 79, of Bronxville, passed away December 23, 2016 in Bronxville, New York after a courageous four year battle with cancer. Mila was born on May 30, 1937 in Manila, Philippines, daughter of the late Tomas and Carmen Zita. She graduated from the University of the Philippines in 1958 and received a scholarship to pursue a postgraduate Certificate in French studies at Université Paris-Sorbonne in 1961. Mila’s adventurous spirit next took her to New York City where she spent a wonderfully fulfilling 35 year career at the United Nations.  Mila was a loving, vibrant, witty and generous soul whose warmth of character brought joy to everyone around her. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 42 years, Teodorico Rodriguez in 2007. She is survived by her devoted daughter and son, Valerie (Scott) McMurray of Bronxville, New York and Todd (Elaine) Rodriguez of San Rafael, California; her adoring grandchildren, Fletcher, Tate and Theo McMurray and Allegra and Eva Rodriguez; and her six sisters and one brother. Calling Hours at the Fred H. McGrath and Son Funeral Home, Bronxville, between the hours of 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm, Wednesday. Mass of Christian Burial, Church of Saint Joseph, Bronxville, NY on January 5, 2017 at 10:45 am.
