Lydia M. Porcelli, of Bronxville passed away on June 9, 2022. Wife of Joseph Porcelli, loving mother of Colette (Rocco) Lettieri and Lesley Ann Porcelli. Devoted grandmother of Giavanna, Lexi and Sloane.

A Woman Of Distinction

Lydia was a star that shed light on all of us. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and glorious friend. Lydia was a woman of devout faith and that faith is what gave her strength and a will to live life to the fullest. Her favorite expression was “go out and make a memory’. Her endless dinners brought us all together and there was never a meal that didn’t end with love, laughter and endless leftovers.

May we all continue to share her love of life, desire to make the world a better place and to share a smile with a stranger.

I grow up with Lydia and shared many fun times and memories. Our high school days were full of only good stories of a friend who always made me smile. I remember the times when she would sleep over my house so we could go out and looks for guys not from Mount Vernon. I remember her putting tomato cans that she wrapped in her hair to make it straight. I was getting perms with my straight hair. I remember cutting school and going to Lynhurst mansion to watch filming of “House of Dark Shadows” and not seeing anyone, but we stood looking at the covered windows for hours, hoping to see Barnabas. Who could forget the Lobster Palace and the great meals made from lobsters she gave us. I spoke to Lydia on February of this year and hope to see her in September but sometimes God has other plans. She lived her life to the best, sharing and giving of herself to others. She always had a smile for all and I know she is smiling down from heaven. I feel your lost but will always remember the good times we shared growing up in Mount Vernon. I remember the ski trip with the CYO, of St Mary’s Church and she went up on ski lift and was so afraid to come down she walked down the baby hill. My heart goes out to all her family and just wanted to share some good memories of my childhood buddy.
