Mary Farrell Petrilli died at age 92 on June 9, 2015 following a brief illness. Born in County Roscommon, Ireland in 1922, she was the daughter of Susan (Shields) Farrell and Frank Farrell. Following her mother’s death in 1925, Mary and her sister Catherine (Kit) immigrated to the United States with their father and ultimately settled in New York. Mary graduated from Cathedral High School in Manhattan and thereafter married Richard “Dick” Petrilli in 1948 at Our Lady of Solace in the Bronx. Together they raised seven children during their forty-three year marriage. Mary worked for 38 years at Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville NY, retiring from the business office in 2006. A resident of Crestwood NY for over 50 years, she is pre-deceased by her husband and is survived by seven children: Ric Petrilli of Cumming, GA; Susan Petrilli of Crestwood, NY; Mary Rossy of Metuchen, NJ; Kathleen Mattare of Bethlehem, PA; Jean Traver of Darien, CT; Dan Petrilli of White Plains, NY; and Bob Petrilli of Simsbury, CT. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Calling hours are at the Fred H. McGrath & Sons Funeral Home, Bronxville NY on Sunday, June 14th between the hours of 2-6pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at the Church of the Annunciation, Crestwood NY on Monday, June 15th at 10 am.
