Margaret Angela Oakley of Mamaroneck, formally of Scarsdale, NY passed away peacefully on Monday August 2, she was 83.
Born in Flushing, NY on April 17, 1938, Margaret, known as Angela to her siblings, Maggie to her friends and Mimi to her grandchildren, was the third of four children born to Hugh and Juanita McGovern (Nee’ King).
Margaret was raised in East Williston, NY, graduated from Our Lady of Mercy Academy and Marymount College of Virginia.
Margaret was a woman of warmth and great faith. She will be remembered for her wonderful home cooked meals, watercolor paintings of flowers and her many ceramic creations.
Margaret was the loving wife of 43 years to the late Donald J. Oakley. She was the proud grandmother of Kaitlin and Bear Winterroll, Jack and Annie DePriest, and Brendan and Jillian Oakley.
She leaves behind two daughters Kathleen Winterroll and Donna DePriest; a son Sean Oakley; and their respective spouses Christopher Winterroll, Paul DePriest, and Nancy Oakley.
Margaret is also survived by her siblings Hugh McGovern, Juanita McLaughlin, and Patricia Rhodes.
