Charles F. O’Donnell, Ph.D., Bronxville, NY, age 75, on January 23, 2014. Dr. O’Donnell was a professor, dean, scholar, esteemed colleague and, upon retirement, professor emeritus at Iona College, New Rochelle, NY where he served for forty-seven years, but what he cherished most was his family: his wife of 46 years, Mary (Hehir); son, Charles, Jr., his wife, Stacey; daughters, Keara Gordon, Caitlin Greatrex, their spouses Len and Peter, and his seven grandchildren – Emma, Neil, Maggie, Patrick, Anne, Andrew, and Dean; sisters Mary Ann O’Donnell, Noreen Leonard, her husband, James; brothers (predeceased) twin Robert, Alexander, Patrick, their spouses – Joan and Judy, and his thirteen nieces and nephews. A son of Mary (Larkin) and Patrick O’Donnell (predeceased), he grew up in the Bronx, NY, graduated summa cum laude from Iona College and received his M.A. and Ph.D. in economics from Fordham University. Calling hours at the Fred H. McGrath & Son, Funeral Home, Bronxville, NY, 2 pm to 4 pm and 7pm to 9 pm Monday. Mass of Christian Burial, St. Joseph’s Church, Bronxville, on Tuesday, January28th at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Friends of Br.
