Brian Michael Niehus, of Parsippany New Jersey passed away November 17, 2017 in New York at the age of 56. Originally from Avon Indiana, Brian resided in New Jersey for 26 years.

An accomplished engineer, Brian studied at Purdue and Rutgers having earned an undergraduate degree in Business earning the honor of High Distinction from Indiana University. He worked most of his career at Garden State Engineering and Layout Inc. Brian received numerous awards for his work. Two notable projects are the Secaucus Bridge and Route 18 New Brunswick, NJ. Brian’s accuracy with measurement was unmatched by anyone.

Brian was a member of the International Union Of Operating Engineers, Local 825. 

Brian is predeceased by his parents John and Gretchen (Hildebrand) Niehus. He is survived by his loving fiancée Mary DeLasho, brothers John (Cindy), Kevin Joseph (Sarah) and sister Heidi, five nieces and nephews; Allison, Eric, Colton, Hayden and Hilde.
Brian was a devoted partner, brother, uncle, godfather and friend and was known for his outstanding sense for humor, contagious smile and his deep appreciation of life, friends and family. He will be remembered by so many people across the country for his legendary storytelling, his kindness and his generosity. He commanded a presence of strength, determination and fortitude. He always put others before himself, a gentleman always.

Brian was a big fan of the Indianapolis Colts, the Chicago Bears and Walter Payton. He was a talented videographer, a fierce competitor at playing games, highly intelligent, a problem solver, had an ear for music and loved movies. He was nicknamed by his friends as “topsey” due to his vast collection of electronics.

Brian was and will continue to be adored by so many. We miss you.
