McKernan, Mary J. July 7, 1921 - December 22, 2019

Mary Josephine McKernan (nee Hackett), 98 years young, died on December 22, 2019, at her home in Boynton Beach, Florida. Born to Mary and John Hackett in July, 1921, she married Patrick A. McKernan who predeceased her in the 71^st year of their life together. Mary was a selfless, loving and loyal wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend and colleague. She worked in food service at Mt. Sinai Hospital and Schraffts in NYC and Atlantis Country Club in Lantana FL

Mary is survived by six children: Margaret (Sr. Anne) McKernan of New Rochelle; Eileen (Bob) Healy of Valley Cottage NY ; Patrick J. (Julie) McKernan of Middletown NY; Michael (Martha) McKernan of Bronxville NY; John (Carol) McKernan of Lithia FL; Thomas (Donna) McKernan of Lady Lake FL. Her two sisters, Annabelle Hackett of Bronxville NY and Catherine Foy of Cortlandt Manor NY, mourn her death as do 10 grandchildren: Brian McKernan, Patrick McKernan, Robert Healy, Matthew Healy, Jennifer Snodgrass, Andrew McKernan, Colleen Zunker, Daniel McKernan, Kaitlin Maguire and Michael McKernan (grandson Stephen McKernan predeceased her) and 21 great grandchildren.

Visitation Sunday, December 29, 3-7 at Fred H. McGrath Funeral Home in Bronxville NY.

(20 Cedar St. 914 337-6770). Funeral Mass Monday, December 30 at 10:45 a.m., St. Joseph’s Church, Bronxville. Internment at Gate of Heaven. In lieu of flowers donate to Trustbridge Hospice Foundation, Palm Beach County, FL.
