McKeon, Mary October 29, 1930 - June 9, 2022

On Thursday June 9, 2022, Mary McKeon, loving mother of 6, grandmother of 20 and great grandmother of 17 (and counting), passed away at the age of 91. Born during the Great Depression to James and Maryellen Devine, Mary was raised in the Bronx with her 6 brothers. She married Robert McKeon in 1952 and raised MaryEllen, Robert, Timothy, Noreen, Michael and Patrick in the Bronx, Queens and Crestwood, and moved to Yorktown in 2018.
Mary was a fiercely independent, savvy and capable woman living on her own to the time of her death. She enjoyed playing bridge, was a voracious reader, and a devote Catholic. She had a brilliant sense of humor, a quick and generous smile, and was always the life of the party. A true matriarch, Mary loved and enjoyed her family above all else and never missed an opportunity to regale all with cherished memories.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband Robert, brothers Michael, Edward, James and Thomas, parents James and Mary Ellen Devine, and numerous other relations and friends. She is survived by all her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers Jack and Pete, and many nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
A wake will be held at McGrath’s Funeral home in Bronxville, NY on Sunday June 19, 2022 from 2:00 to 6:00. A funeral mass will be held on Monday June 20, 20222 at Annunciation Church in Crestwood, NY the Church at 11:00. Donations may be made to Catholic Charities.

    We had pleasure of being Mary and Bob’s next door neighbors for many years. Mary treated my kids (all now very much adults) to candies and other treats when they would find a way onto her property. Missed seeing her heading to church each day. Condolences to the entire family.
