McKenna, Ellen T. October 25, 1927 - December 28, 2020

Ellen T. McKenna, a lifelong resident of the Bronxville area, died peacefully on December 28, 2020.  Ellen was born in Yonkers on October 25, 1927, the daughter of the late Joseph and Agnes Viola Connors.   She graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1945, and Good Counsel College in 1949.   In 1956, she married Donald P. McKenna, who predeceased her in 1994.  In her younger years, Ellen taught at the Washington School for Secretaries in New York City, and also worked for several years at the New York Central Railroad.  After raising her daughter, she returned to the workforce in 1981 as a clerk at the Bronxville Public Library, retiring in 2001.   Ellen is survived by her beloved daughter Joanne (Wade Hovind) Langhoff of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and loving grandchildren, Katherine (Rob) Rude of Milford, Ohio, Jacqueline (Matt Hoover) Langhoff of Canton, Ohio, Jessica (Bryan) Stewart of Westerville, Ohio, Michael (Viviana) Langhoff of Chicago, IL, and Derek Hovind of Calgary, Alberta, Canada.  She is also survived by four great grandchildren: Brandon, Reagan, Lacey, and Dominik.   Ellen was predeceased by her adoring twin brother Thomas T. Connors.  She will be dearly missed by Tom’s devoted children Brian Connors, Kelly Gallagher, Maura (Justin) Bohan, and Margaret (James) McQuade, and their families as well as other nieces and nephews.  Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be no calling hours or services at this time.  A memorial celebration will be held later this year.  Private graveside service is being held at Gate of Heaven cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either St. Jude Children’s Hospital www.stjude.org/donate or Shiner’s Hospital for Children www.lovetotherescue.org

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be no calling hours or services at this time.  A memorial celebration will be held later this year.  Private graveside service is being held at Gate of Heaven cemetery.
