Martin, Victoria Dorothy July 14, 1927 - September 28, 2018

Victoria (Vicki) Martin, passed into eternal life on September 28, 2018, surrounded by her family. Vicki was born on July 14, 1927. She met her future husband, Joseph, at a local skating rink and they were married on October 7, 1950. Vicki is survived by her husband of nearly 68 years, her son Robert (Naomi) and daughter Vanessa. Vicki was predeceased by her parents, Anthony and Amelia and her brother Robert. She is also survived by many relatives and friends. She attended Commerce High School and The College of Mount Saint Vincent. Prior to her retirement, Vicki was employed by Verizon as a benefits consultant. Earlier in life she served as a school crossing guard at the corner of Midland Avenue and Bronx River Road, which we referred to as (Mom’s Corner). Vicki has been a past president of the Rosary Alter Society at the Church of St. John the Baptist. She had been a parishioner at the Church of St. Joseph’s for many years. Vicki was a member of the New York Archdiocese Festival Choir, which sang at St. Joseph’s Seminary and St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Vicki was active in retirement. She was a Eucharistic Minister, member of the Arts and Leisure Club of St. Joseph’s and the Bronxville Seniors. She enjoyed vacationing, especially cruising and had been looking forward to a cruise in January. Vicki enjoyed spending time with her family socializing, entertaining, swimming, reading and knitting. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of St. Joseph’s, Bronxville, on Saturday, Oct 13 at 10:45 am.
