Margaret Johanna Schmitt (known as “Peggy”) was born and raised in Detroit, MI; raised her family in New Rochelle, NY; and passed peacefully in Vero Beach, FL surrounded by life-long friends on April, 14, 2011.  She was the loving mother of Peter (Michelle), Stephen (Danielle), and Mary Anne (Donald) Carey, and devoted grandmother of Sara, Brian, Jordan, Zachary, Peter, Hannah, Melissa, Stacey, Maureen, Hugh, and Donnie.  Peggy also treasured her sister, Mary Anne Davis, and brother, Peter Ulbrich.  Calling hours will be held at the Fred H. McGrath & Son Funeral Home, Bronxville, NY on Wednesday, April 20 between the hours of 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.  The funeral service will be held at Christ Church, Bronxville on Thursday, April 21 at 3:00pm.  In Lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the organization that Peggy brought a smile to every week, the Burke Rehabilitation Hospital, 785 Mamaroneck Ave., White Plains, NY  10605. Through her consistent actions every day, Peggy taught us all the true meaning of love.
