Lois (Rogers) Manning, a long-time resident of New Rochelle, died at home on August 7, 2015. She was the daughter of the late Russell G. and Florence M. Rogers. Mrs. Manning was born in New Jersey on July 2, 1932 and lived in Teaneck before moving to Binghamton, NY. She later moved to New Rochelle as a teenager where she resided for the remainder of her life. She graduated from New Rochelle High School, where she also met her husband, Joseph. She attended Colby Sawyer College in New Hampshire. Prior to retiring, Mrs. Manning was employed by Claire D. Leone Real Estate in Scarsdale, NY. Mrs. Manning was the wife of the late Joseph S. Manning III. She is survived by two sons, Joseph S. IV and Christopher L. Manning, both of Somers, NY and a daughter Jill Manning Hartzell of Hingham, MA. She was the devoted grandmother of 9 grandchildren. Mrs. Manning enjoyed travel, antiques and gardening. She was an accomplished rug hooker and was known for her love of dogs. She was an excellent swimmer who loved the beach and had a passion for ice skating in her youth. Family will receive friends from 6-9 pm on Tuesday, August 11, at Fred H. McGrath & Son Funeral Home in Bronxville, NY. A memorial mass will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, August 12, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Post Road, Scarsdale NY. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to: The American Cancer Society and The Society For the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals of Westchester, Inc.
