Daniel Patrick Malone, (age75), Departed this life on Sunday, July 16, 2017, in Santa Ana, California. He was born in the Bronx, NY, on July 21, 1941 in the parish of Our Lady of Victory, to the late Margaret (nee McEntee) and Michael Malone, who immigrated to New York from County Monaghan, Ireland. He is survived by his beloved partner Jan Mendelsohn of Palm Desert, CA; devoted sister Mary Novelli of Scarsdale, NY; brothers John Malone, SMSgt (Ret), USAF, of Callaway, FL; Bernard Malone, MSgt (Ret), USAF, of Stuart, FL,; and several generations of grateful and loving nieces, nephews, and cousins in America and Ireland. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Thomas, Francis, and Eugene. Dan graduated from St. Simon Stock High School in the Bronx, and after taking classes at Hofstra University, received his undergraduate degree from Adelphi University, NY, and completed graduate courses at Pepperdine University, CA. An expert in human resources, personnel management, and compensation, he worked for Montefiore Hospital, Belleview Hospital, Barclays Bank, Electrolux, Toshiba, and as a private consultant. Dan lived in Mission Viejo, California for 33 years and was active in his community as a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity, and as a Spiritual Care volunteer at St. Joseph’s Mission Viejo Hospital. He loved to travel and read, and enjoyed liturgical music. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 21st at 10:45 am at the Church of St. Joseph, 15 Cedar Street, Bronxville, NY, with internment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Valhalla, NY. A memorial service will be held at a later date in California.
