June R. Lynch passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her children and grandchildren on December 21, 2015. She was 91 years old. June was born on July 29, 1924 to Nora (Muldoon) and John Hopwood in the Bronx, NY, and graduated from Evander Child’s High School. She was very active in the USO during World War II, going to countless dances and other events in the New York City area with the soldiers and sailors. She married Edward P. Lynch (“the only guy for her”) on October 15, 1949. Together they raised 9 children. June was a devoted, loving and kind mother, wife, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, daughter, sister and friend. She loved hugs, music (especially Frank Sinatra), playing cards, and the New York Yankees. Above all, she loved her family and they loved her. June is predeceased by her husband Edward, her parents Nora and John, her sister Evelyn, her brothers Matty and John, and her grandson Michael. She is survived by her nine children, Mary Llonch Barbalato (Wayne), Joan Linebaugh, Eileen Fox, Noreen Hernandez (Joe), Edward Lynch (Jane), Nancy Yannaco (Artie), Anne McGrinder, John Lynch (Donna) and Cathy Lynch. She is also survived by 27 grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jessie Llonch, James Llonch, Jesse Barbalato, Keith Barbalato, Larry Linebaugh (Kourtney), Adam Linebaugh (Jasmine), Carter Linebaugh, Denise Romani (Kenny), James (J.P.) (Stacie Didomenico) Fox, Ashley Kantor, Taylor Kantor, Adrianna Romani, Keith Hernandez, Katie Lynch, Brian Gereau (Carin), Heather Gereau (Malcolm Wilson), Cole Wilson, Matt McHale, Christen McHale, Artie Yannaco, Chris Yannaco, John Yannaco, Kelly McGrinder, Thomas (T.J.) Lynch, Emily Martin (Trent Dunbar), Daniel Martin and the late Michael McGrinder. Strong in her faith, she looked forward to the day when God called her home with joyful anticipation. She was loved very much by many, and will be missed. Calling hours at the Fred H. McGrath & Son, Inc., Funeral Home, Bronxville, between the hours of 6 to 9 pm Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Sunday. Mass of Christian Burial, St. Joseph’s Church, Bronxville, on Monday, December 28 at 9:45 am.
