Lois-Anne Leiser, daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. G. Edward Leiser and sister of the late Lenore, died peacefully after a long illness on September 7, 2012.
She received a B.A. from Good Counsel College and an M.S. from Fordham University. Her teaching years were spent in early education. She became a Reading Specialist, was appointed the Yonkers City Coordinator of Reading for first grade teachers, and prior to her retirement became the Reading Coordinator for grades K-12. In November, 1979 she was named Yonkers Teacher of the Year. Lois-Anne will be remembered by many for her gentle manner, generosity and willingness to serve those in need. For many years she volunteered her time and services at the Convent of Mary the Queen in Yonkers. Calling hours at the Fred H. McGrath and Son Funeral Home, Bronxville between the hours of 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm Monday. Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Family Church, New Rochelle on Tuesday September 11, at 9:30 am.
