Arthur F. Kane of Cummaquid, Ma and formerly of Bronxville on August 2, 2017. Born and raised in NYC and its Westchester County suburbs, Arthur F. Kane received a BBA degree from the University of Miami and, upon graduation, served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Army. He spent the next decade at CBS News as a production executive on such programs as “60 Minutes” and “The CBS Evening News” as a special events producer of space shots, political conventions, national elections, and the like. He moved to Viacom as vice-president of international marketing at the time of Viacom’s spin-off from CBS, only to return to CBS six years later to organize and manage an international marketing department for CBS Sports. Winding up his CBS career as vice president of international sales and co-productions for CBS Broadcast International, he subsequently extended his involvement with international television by serving as Executive Director of the International Emmy Awards for four years before retiring to Cummaquid, Massachusetts, on his much loved Cape Cod, with his wife in 1998. During his time on Cape Cod, he was actively involved with the Academy for Lifelong Learning at Cape Cod Community College, where he served a term on its board of directors, chaired its PR committee, and taught courses on the news media. He was a communicant at St. Francis Xavier church in Hyannis. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Peggy (Shally) Kane, his four daughters, Patsy Wiswell (Ron) and Betsy LeBlanc (Doug) of Marblehead, Kathleen Kane (Deb) of Buchanan, NY, AnneMarie Kane of New York City, and his sister, Patricia Quin of Longwood, FL. A visitation will be held at Fred H. McGrath and Son Funeral Home (20 Cedar St, Bronxville, NY 10708) on Monday, August 7, 2017 between the hours of 9 to 10:30am, followed by a funeral service at 10.45am at Church of St Joseph (15 Cedar St, Bronxville, NY 10708).
