Ward, Joseph Noel, M.D. F.R.C.S., F.A.C.S., F.R.C.O.G. of Riverdale, NY on July 3, 2012. Beloved husband of the late Ann Curtin Ward M.D., and father of Fiona and Gregory Clapp, Dr. J. Desmond and Julie Ward and the late Joseph Francis Ward.
Grandfather of Noel, Evangeline and Charlotte Clapp and Lily, Catherine and Colin Ward. A senior attending urologist at St. Luke’s – Roosevelt Hospital Center, New York and Associate Clinical Professor of Urology at College of Physicians and Surgeons, Columbia University, he was born in Northern Ireland, graduated from University College, Dublin as an undergraduate and then from medical school in 1949. He completed residencies at The Radcliffe Infirmary, Oxford, England, The Brady Institute, The Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland and Grady Memorial Hospital, Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia. He was a Diplomate, American Board of Urology and practiced urology in New York City for 40 years. Calling hours at Fred H. McGrath and Son Funeral Home, Bronxville, New York between the hours of 5 to 8 pm Thursday. Mass of Christian Burial St. Joseph’s Church, Bronxville on Friday July 6 at 10 am.
