Jacobs, David L. April 7, 1959 - May 29, 2021

David Louis Jacobs passed away unexpectedly at 62 years old on the evening of Saturday, May 29.

David is survived by his wife, Mary (Weston) Jacobs, his daughters, Rebecca and Elizabeth Jacobs, and his brother, Harry Jacobs. He is predeceased by his father, Colin Lee Jacobs, and his mother, Estelle (Matcha) Jacobs.

David was born on April 7, 1959 in Los Angeles, California to Lee and Estelle Jacobs and grew up in North Hollywood and the San Fernando Valley. As a kid David, Harry, and their parents took frequent trips around the West Coast and Southwest, influencing a love of road trips that he later shared with his wife and daughters. In 1981 David graduated from Princeton University and then spent two years working in South Korea.

David was a devoted father and husband and found joy in many of life’s simple pleasures. He spent his weekends going on hikes around the Hudson Valley, taking Saturday trips to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and browsing through local library book sales. A self-described “history buff”, he was a voracious reader and a lifelong baseball fan. At the Jacobs home he could usually be found reading an 800-page presidential biography or glued to a riveting Mets game on TV. He was an incredibly hard worker, and spent many years working as a stockbroker at H. Rivkin & Company.

A funeral service is scheduled for 2pm on Friday, June 11 at Fred H McGrath & Son Funeral Home at 20 Cedar Street, Bronxville, NY 10708.

Funeral Service at 2 pm, Friday, June 11, 2021.  The family will continue to receive friends  until 5 pm.

Dear Mary, I’m shocked and very sad to hear about Dave’s passing away. I was his roommate during our senior year at Princeton. We were good friends at Princeton and we had a wonderful time when I visited him in LA and stayed at his home.
I regret not to have seen him since our graduation and would greatly appreciate it if I could have a chance to call you and convey my condolences in person.
    Best regards, Huseyin Akin (Istanbul, +90 532 373 5331)
