John M. Hanrahan, of Yonkers, NY, passed away on January 5, 2021. Beloved husband of the late Helen Hanrahan. Loving father of Michael (Maryann) Hanrahan and Kathy (Peter) Mitchell. Devoted grandfather of Michael Caskey and Matthew Hanrahan, great grandfather of Michael and Allison. Born in Yonkers in 1931 to the late James and Mary Hanrahan. Dear brother of the late Jim Hanrahan. John had a long career with City of Yonkers Water Department as a draftsman. Calling hours at the Fred H. McGrath & Son, Funeral Home, Bronxville, between the hours of 2 to 6 pm Sunday. Mass of Christian Burial St. Bartholomew’s Church, Yonkers, on Monday January 11 at 10 am. In Lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St Judes Children’s Hospital at https://www.stjude.org in Johns Name.

      So sad to hear about John passing I always remembered him with a smile on his face telling a joke and making everyone laugh. Such great family thanksgiving memories at the Zarychta house. Rest in peace with Helen. Cathy and Michael our condolences..

    Michael and Kathy, and of course Maryann and Pete and Michael and Matthew. our deep sympathies. So sorry to hear of John’s death. He looked so frail when we last saw him. He was such a great friend at bowling, and looked so forlorn when Helen died. with love, Vinnie and Krys
