Hackett, Annabelle A. July 6, 1922 - May 11, 2022

Annabelle Agnes Hackett, eight weeks shy of 100 years young, died in the late evening of May 11, 2022 at White Plains Hospital, White Plains, New York. Born to Mary and John Hackett on July 6, 1922 in the environs of Edinburgh, Scotland, Annabelle and her family emigrated to the United States in 1926. A graduate of Julia Richmond High School, NYC, Annabelle worked in various capacities at Equitable Life Insurance Company for over 45 years. In her retirement she was an active parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church, Bronxville NY, and a weekly volunteer at Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville.

An avid traveler, she became a camera buff to share her experiences with several generations of the family. Her desire to be ‘out and about’ on her own continued through her mid-90s with the help of Westchester’s Bee-line buses. Annabelle thoroughly enjoyed life, family, and friends.

Annabelle is survived by her sister Catherine Foy of Cortlandt Manor, NY, who mourns her passing as do 15 nieces and nephews and countless grand-nieces, grand-nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation is Wednesday afternoon, May 18, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Fred H. McGrath Funeral Home at 20 Cedar Street. Bronxville NY (914 337-6770)

Funeral Mass is Thursday, May 19, at 9:45 a.m., at St. Joseph’s Church, Bronxville NY. The mass is being live-streamed. See the link on the main page.
