Gibbons, Anne M June 15, 1932 - April 3, 2021

Anne M. Gibbons of Bronxville passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on April 3, 2021. Beloved wife of 57 years to the late George J. Gibbons, loving mother of Thomas J. (Patti) and Noreen (David) Wallover, devoted grandmother of Timothy and Catherine Gibbons and Hannah Wallover, dear sister of James McHugh (Roberta) and the late Peter McHugh (Patricia). Anne was born in the Bronx to the late Peter and Nora McHugh. Growing up in the Bronx she attended St. Luke’s Grammar School and after skipping a year ahead she graduated from Sacred Heart of Mary High School in 1949. She spent her summers with her large extended Irish family in Rockaway Beach, a tradition that continued on with her own family until the 1990’s. Anne and George were married in 1961 and eventually settled in Melville, Long Island where they raised Tom and Noreen. In 1979, she and George moved to Boca Raton, Florida before eventually retiring in Bronxville, NY in 2002.  Anne was a devout Catholic and was very active within her religious community, throughout her life.  She and George were founding members of St. Elizabeth’s Parish in Melville as well as St. Jude’s Church in Boca Raton. Anne was also a very active member of St. Joseph’s Church, Bronxville until the time of her death. During their retirement years Anne and George enjoyed traveling and taking cruises all over the globe. Calling Hours at the Fred H. McGrath & Son Funeral Home, Bronxville Thursday April 15, 2021, between the hours of 3 pm to 7pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph’s Church, Bronxville on Friday, April 16, 2021 at 10:45am. In lieu of Flowers contributions may be made to Calvary at Home Hospice.
