Foldi, Andrew P. November 30, 1935 - September 19, 2022

Andrew P. Foldi  age 86 passed away on September 18, 2022 in Raleigh, North Carolina.  He was the beloved husband of Etelka Foldi.  They shared 58 beautiful years of marriage together.

Born in Legyenbenye, Hungary, he was the son of Maria and Peter Foldi.  He graduated high school in Hungary, and became a professional soccer player. He went on to serve his country in the Hungarian Army as a Border Patrol Agent.  He came to America, continued playing soccer and honed his skills to become a professional baker.  It was at this time he met Etelka and they fell in love.  They married, settled in Yonkers, and had their family.

Before he retired in 2004 he was employed at Refined Sugars and Syrups in Yonkers, NY and worked as a computer engineer.

He was a dedicated member of Saint Nicholas of Myra Church and served as usher/cantor for many years.  He enjoyed fishing and watching the Jets and Mets play.  He was a talented and expressive dancer. His greatest joy however, was the time he spent with his wife and family.

Andrew’s family is his wife Etelka,  children David  (Heidi), Terezia, Miklos, and Bernadette (Kerry Mooney), grandchildren, Matthew, Kevin, Jonathan, Tyler, Ryan, Nichole, Zachary, Dillon, great grandchildren, Aiden, Christopher, Chance, and Ripley.

He will be remembered for his devotion to his family and his caring for his church and community. His sense of humor and wit was unmatched.  He was everything a devoted Husband, Father,  Grandfather, and Great Grandfather would be.

He was friend to all and loved by all!
