Marian L. Vey, 76, of Westbury, NY passed away on November 12, 2022 from pancreatic cancer.
Marian was born on May 8, 1946 to parents Frank and Laura Duffy in the Bronx, NY. She met her husband of 50 years, Barton Vey, from one of her close high school friends at Blessed Sacrament Acadamy. Marian and Barton settled in Bronxville, NY and raised two children, Bart and Suzann.
Marian raised her kids and worked in offices as a secretary, and ultimately for the New York City Board of Education as anassistant to the principal of a high school for many years where she met many life-long friends. The key requirement for Marian was making sure her job allowed her to spend her summers out in Sag Harbor, NY with her family where she and Barton built their summer home in the 1960s. Marian loved being at the beach, researching her Irish family history well before it was fashionable and done on-line, loved her large family and celebrating every holiday with them.
Marian was predeceased by Barton Vey, who passed away five years ago. She is survived by Bart F. Vey, Suzann Sopkin, their spouses Katie and Nick, five doting grandchildren, Paul, Andy, Emma, Laura and Claire, and a large and supportive family consisting of dozens of cousins, nieces and nephews.
