Eugene E. (Gene) Kelly, Jr., 88, of Yonkers, NY passed away March 16, 2012.
Beloved husband of Joyce, Father of Robert, Mark and Betsy Levenson. Grandfather of Bobby and Jack Kelly and Kyra Wilkowski. Gene was born in Holyoke, MA in 1923. He graduated from Amherst College and received his Master’s degree in literature from Columbia University. He had a long and successful career on Wall Street. Gene married Joyce Moore Kelly in April of 1950 and they were married for 62 wonderful years. A member of the Greatest Generation, he served as a second Lieutenant, Air Corps in the United States Army during World War II. A lifelong member of the St. Joseph’s Parish in Bronxville, NY, Gene generously contributed his time through service to the Men’s Club, Parish Council and to the school’s athletic program as a coach in various sports. A lover of the arts and music, he was also an avid golfer who played great courses around the world. His love of family was matched by his generosity and kindness to all who knew him. Calling hours at the Fred H. McGrath & Son Funeral Home between the hours of 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Wednesday. Mass of Christian Burial St. Joseph’s Church on Thursday March 22 at 10am.
