Lawrence Jackson Douglas, 52 died unexpectedly at Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville, N.Y. on  April 21, 2018.  He was born in New York, New York on May 13, 1965 to the late Jackson and Elizabeth Douglas.  He attended P.S. 103, St. Joseph’s School, Iona Prep, his undergraduate from Mercy College and Buffalo University and a Masters in Computer Science from Iona College.   Intrigued by the burgeoning telecommunications industry he joined the former New York Telephone in 1990 and proceeded to have a career that surpassed 27 years. He loved technological advances and took many courses to enhance his knowledge of the industry.  In his 40’s he joined the freemason’s and it struck a cord in his psyche.  The pursuit of truth became his mantra.   He shunned traditional media outlets and travelled outside the United States questioning things we take for granted.  He loved talking to people about the topics of the day.  Though spirited in his debates he was always respectful of ideas and grateful to those who engaged him. For the past 25 years he has travelled with his brothers to multiple cities every year with the goal of seeing the New York Yankees and Mets at every Major League ballpark.   Though Larry will not be able to see the final ballparks in the family journey a seat will be purchased for him.  He was such an essential cog in the family dynamic it is only fitting that a place of honor is reserved for him at every remaining game. He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Tonia, his son Derrick, his brothers Stewart, Reed, and Monty, his sisters Theodora and Noelle and nine nieces and nephews.  He was preceeded in death by his sister, Janelle. Calling hours are 2 to 6 pm on Sunday, April 29th at the Fred H. McGrath and Son Funeral Home, Bronxville.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:45 a.m. Monday, April 30th at St. Joseph’s Church, Bronxville, N.Y
