DeMarco, Carlo February 24, 1930 - August 26, 2019

Carlo DeMarco, age 89, of Carmel, NY (formerly of The Bronx & Cavasso Nuovo, Italy), a devoted husband, father, grandfather, friend and neighbor died peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on August 26, 2019.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Olga (Adinolfi), two sons – Carlo (Suzanne Brown) and Mark (Caroline McGrath); four grandchildren – Alison, Andrew, Julia and Natalie – and numerous extended family members and friends.

A veteran of the Korean War, where he earned the Bronze Service Star and the United Nations Service Medal, Carlo was born in Cavasso Nuovo, Italy, emigrated with his parents to the United States in 1938, and lived in The Bronx until October 2018, when he moved to Carmel, New York. The only son of Carlo and Ottilia DeMarco, he became a United States citizen in April 1954; graduated from Aviation High School and The Casey School of Aeronautics, where he was trained as an aircraft technician, and; worked as an airplane mechanic for more than 40 years with several major airlines.

Carlo was a kind and generous man with a warm personality, who greeted all with a welcoming smile and firm handshake. He cherished time with his family, shared a special bond with all dogs who crossed his path and was quick to help a family member, friend or neighbor in need. But most of all, he loved his four grandchildren and, not surprisingly, they loved him and embraced their time with him. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

Calling hours will be held at the Fred H. McGrath & Son Funeral Home, 20 Cedar Street, Bronxville, NY on Friday, August 30, 2019, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., and his funeral mass will be at The Church of St. Joseph, Bronxville, NY on Saturday, August 31, 2019, at 9:45 a.m.
