Richard W. Deckelmann passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 after a brief, but brave fight against cancer.  He was 79.  Richard is survived by his beloved wife, Ginny, his devoted daughters, Chrisann (Dennis) Foley and Deborah (Rawlins) Troop and his loving grandchildren, Brittany, Morgan, Caroline, Kelly, Nick, Max and Joe. He is also survived by many loving cousins, nieces and nephews, and friends. Richie was born in Bronx, NY and grew up in Yonkers where he remained all his life.  He was a splicer for Con Edison in Manhattan for 56 years and served honorably in the U.S. Army from April 1957 through April 1959.  Richie was a world traveler, a history buff, a gardener and a man who loved to build and create with his hands.  He lived his life with quiet dignity and was a true gentleman who was always ready to help others whenever they needed a hand. Richie was deeply loved by all and will be sorely missed. Calling Hours at the Fred H. McGrath & Son Funeral Home, Bronxville between the hours of 3 to 6pm Monday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm Tuesday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 4th at 10:45am at St. Joseph’s Church, Bronxville, NY.  Internment will immediately follow at Ferncliff Cemetery, Hartsdale. NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
