CAPUTO-Dante S. of Riverdale, NY passed away on April 7, 2011.
He was born in New York City, February 10, 1920, the son of Maria and Angelo Caputo. He was a graduate of the Horace Mann School and Williams College, class of 1942. He served in the Army Signal Corps from 1942-1945 and achieved the rank of Captain. He was an agent at The New York Life Insurance Company for over 60 years. Beloved husband of the late Kathleen Buckner Caputo and the late Emily Stull Caputo. He is survived by his daughter, Kathleen Caputo and son Thomas Caputo, three grandchildren, Kathleen Caputo, Maria Mulvehill and Alexander Freeman, and two great grandchildren, Makenzee Freeman and Adelaide Mulvehill. He is also survived by Patricia Anderson, Pengwynne Blevins, Pamela Potter, Paul Potter and Peter Potter, (children by marriage) five additional grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was an avid tennis and platform tennis player, and a member of long standing at The Riverdale Yacht Club in Riverdale, NY where he was a former Commodore and served as the Treasurer for over 40 years. He was also the Treasurer of The Williams Club in New York City and served on the board of The Riverdale Neighborhood House. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on May 7, 2011 at Christ Church in Riverdale, NY. Donations may be made to The Maria and Angelo Caputo Scholarship Fund at Williams College or Christ Church, Riverdale, New York.
