Raquel (Rachel) Colon, age 67, beloved mother of Marilyn Nelson Cashman and cherished grandmother of Patrick J. Cashman (16) and Clare Anne Cashman (12), entered into eternal rest on Monday, December 19, 2016. Originally a resident of Brooklyn, in 2013, after the passing of her mother, Mercedes, brother, Luis and son, Michael, she moved to Eastchester where she resided with her devoted daughter, Marilyn, following her diagnosis of Glioblastomia Brain Cancer until the date of her death. Aunt to loving niece, Allison Morales and her three children Devin, Brooke and Christian, she is also survived by her brothers, Rafael Morales and Clemente Diaz of N.J. and their children Evelyn, Lizett & Berlitz Torres and Diane Slaughter & Kimberly Cooper, as well as half siblings, William Mendez, Rosario Mendez, Michael Mendez and adopted nieces Sandra and Jorgina Mendez of her late sister, Diana Mendez, daughter-in-law, Tabitha Feliciano and their children. Affectionate sister-in-law to Mary & Matthew Visconti, Anne Nelson Beach, George & Liz Nelson, Michael & Debi Nelson, Joseph & Patrice Nelson, Billy & Pat Nelson, Thomas & Julie Nelson, siblings of Daniel Thomas Nelson, Raquel is also survived by her treasured cousins Julia, Mercedes, Carmen, Noel, Gloria, Jose & Annie, and their children, Grace, Lisa, Jamaris, Andreana, Gene, Myra, Kenny, Maritza, Tanya and Noel, Ernestino and the late Alexander. Founder of Personal Touch Realty and a long time Mortgage Specialist and Loan Officer for Chase Bank, Raquel was last employed with AAFE (Asian Americans for Equality) in the residential housing unit, where she assisted victims of Hurricane Sandy for emergency housing relief and loan remodifications, until her retirement at age 65. Reposing at Fred H. McGrath & Son, Funeral Home at 20 Cedar Street, Bronxville, NY 1-4pm & 6-9pm, Friday. Christian Service at the funeral home on Saturday, December 24 at 9:00 am, immediately followed by interment at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Hastings-On-Hudson, NY.
