Joseph Brocia, Jr., 96, died February 11, 2015 following a brief illness. He is survived by his wife Lois and sons, Joseph Brocia III and Robert Brocia, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. A long-time Yonkers resident, he attended P.S. 8 and Roosevelt High School. Joseph then attended Colgate University, graduating in 1942. He then enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he trained as a combat pilot flying Corsair fighter aircraft. He was assigned to the Fighting Falcons on the aircraft carrier Bunker Hill operating in the Pacific theater of the war.  He was awarded the Air Medal and the Distinguished Flying Cross for heroism. After his discharge from the Marine Corps, at the rank of Captain, he joined California Products Company, a Fresno, California-based distiller servicing the domestic wine industry, as vice-president of sales. An avid yachtsman, he was a member of Huguenot Yacht Club in New Rochelle, NY since 1946, serving as commodore and club historian. He also served as commodore of the Eastern Cruiser Association.  Family will receive friends at the Fred H. McGrath & Son, Funeral Home, Bronxville, between the hours of 2 to 5 pm Sunday, February 15.
