Bordonaro, Robert A. June 21, 1953 - March 6, 2022

Robert A. Bordonaro, 68, resident of Bronxville, NY since 1997 and member of Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church died on Sunday, March 6, 2022, after battling brain cancer for over eight months. He is survived by Michelle, wife of 25 years and a brother William, a retired Lutheran Pastor. Robert retired three years ago, after working 42 years as a CPA including 33 years (SVP) for The Related Companies, a major international real estate firm. Robert graduated #1 from 3 schools (NYU, JHS and 6th grade) and also earned 96 average at Stuyvesant HS, one of the top high schools in the US. At Related, Robert developed financial projections on 3 bases (cash, tax and GAAP) which enabled the company to raise $1 Billion in capital. Served as Treasurer/VP of Grace Lutheran Church, Astoria, NY (20 years). Attended 8 World’s Fairs spanning period of over 50 years (from NY in ’64 to Milan in’15). Intended to go to Expo ‘20 in Dubai – delayed to 2021 because of COVIS-19, but time ran out. Traveled extensively (Scandinavia, Italy, England, France, Spain, Germany, Canada, Alaska, Hawaii, Japan and China). An auto enthusiast (owner of a ‘65 T-Bird), he maintained a collection of original car catalogs and models spanning over 100 years, as well as World’s Fair memorabilia. Robert also tracked the latest music, movie and bestseller charts for over 60 years. Calling hours at the Fred H. McGrath & Son, Funeral Home, Bronxville, between the hours of 4 to 8 pm, Tuesday. Mass of Christian Burial, St. Joseph’s Church, Bronxville, on Wednesday, March 9, at 10:45 am.

      Thank you so much for your sincere words of sympathy for my husband, Robert Bordonaro. He was a very loving and helpful person to all he met during his life. I am so glad you were able to work with him at Related. He suffered so much in pain with this brain cancer. I believe because of his good life with everyone he came in contact with that he is definitely happily in peace with God in heaven.

    Dear Steve West,

    Thank you so much for your kind words about my husband , Robert Bordonaro at this difficult time. He was a very considerate and understanding manwho went out of his way to help his family, friends and all the people he worked with. He suffered in pain with his brain cancer. It was a blessing that he died peacefully in his sleep . I know that hie is now happy with God in Heaven.
