Maureen Ann Bland (nee Mc Auley), 75, a longtime resident of the Bronx, N.Y., died on Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2018 at the Runnells Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare in Berkeley Heights, N.J. Born in Queens, NY on October 25, 1942, to Elizabeth (Smail) and James Mc Auley, Maureen was raised in Astoria and attended William Cullen Bryant High School. She worked as a teacher’s aide for the New York City Board of Education, including at William Howard Taft High School and the Bronx High School of Science. On November 9, 1963 at St. Joseph’s Church in Astoria, Maureen married her beloved husband Michael (Mickey) Bland. He died on June 30, 1997. She was also predeceased by her dear sister Betty Mae Ryan. She is survived by her loving daughters Laura (Brian) Haupt of Lawrenceville, GA, Lynn (Peter) Fitzpatrick of Goshen, NY, and Maureen (Timothy) English of Bronxville, NY; her cherished grandchildren Michael and Kellie Fitzpatrick and Ryan, Devin and Kristen Haupt. Maureen is also survived by her devoted friends at the Runnells Center, including Ernie and Angela. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Maureen at St. Joseph’s Church in Bronxville, NY on Saturday, September 29th at 9:45 am.
