Bisaccia, Carol A October 23, 2021

Carol Ann Conlan Bisaccia fought long and hard, but her battle with cancer ended peacefully on October, 23, 2021, surrounded by her family. She is survived by her loving children, Paul (Kara) and Nancy (Jason) and seven wonderful grandchildren, James, Abigail, Grace, Andrew, Katie, Sarah and William.

Carol was born on December 20 and was named after a Christmas Carol by her parents Joe Conlan and Sally Digan. She grew up in the Bronx.  She worked as an emergency room nurse at St. Johns Hospital for many years, and it was there where she met the love of her life Tony Bisaccia, a Yonkers Police officer.  On September 10,1966 she married the man who swept her off her feet.

Carol and Tony spent the next 52 years together, working hard and raising a family. Carol continued to work as a nurse for many years until she decided to stay home and care for Paul and Nancy. Once they were older, she went back to work in an advertising agency in New York City.  She loved taking the train to work and the hustle and bustle of the city. Carol loved keeping in touch with her friends and family and sharing stories of her grandchildren.

Once Carol and Tony retired, they spent most of their time together in Long Island.  It was there, at her cottage on Wildwood Lake, where she felt most comfortable. Having grown up at the lake, she built lifelong friendships and had many stories to share. She spent her final summer at the lake, and just like when she was a child, she did not want to leave in the fall.

Carols life will be celebrated Friday, October 29 from 2-6pm at Fred H. McGrath and Sons Funeral Home, 20 Cedar Street, Bronxville, NY.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, October 30 at 9:45am at Saint Josephs Church, 15 Cedar St Bronxville, NY.

Dear Nancy & Paul, was so sad to hear of Carol’s passing. I’ve no doubt it has left a huge void in both you and your families lives. My only time to meet her was in Tullamore with your grandmother my Aunt Sally in 1981, you two were very young, Nancy was dancing in the “Worlds” it was a lovely time and I’ve very good memories of Carol and Tony from that visit. Thinking of you all at this sad and lonely time.

Dear Paul & Nancy, our sympathies to you both on the passing of your Mother Carol. We have fond memories of her and your family along with your Grandmother Sally staying with us on your visit to Ireland in the early 80’s. Some years later your Mother & Father invited us to stay with them for a few days when we were on holiday in the USA.. The wonderful memories you have of her will give you comfort at this sad time in your lives. May she rest in Peace.
