Taylor Marie Beard of Mount Vernon, New York died on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 after a four year battle with colon cancer. She was 30 years old. Taylor is survived by her mothers, Helen Beard and Cathy Griffin; her brother, Warren James Beard; her beloved fiance, Zachary Konddraki and best friends, Emma and Trevor Swann and Eitan Levine (members of The Fellowship.) Also mourning her loss are her Uncle Raymond Klopchin and Aunt Annmarie Ceccarelli; Uncle Robert Klopchin and Aunt Doreen Weslowski; Uncle Bryan Klopchin and Aunt Diane Stilianese; Aunt Lynn and Uncle Richard Gates; Aunt Allison and Uncle Tom Pruitt; Aunt Marie and Uncle Tom Howard; Aunt Mary and Uncle Mike Russell, and her many cousins: Jonathan, Jeanette, Raymond Thomas, Wendy, Amy, Bobby, Jessica, Greg, Lenny, Melissa, Orin, Mat, Gary, Tim, Emma K, John, Sam, Emma P., and Kaitlynn. She will be loved and missed by countless other friends.
She was surely met in heaven by those who preceded her to the gates: her beloved Daddy, Warren Taylor Beard Jr.; her grandmother and grandfather, Helen and Raymond Klopchin Sr; her grandfather, Warren T. Beard Sr; her Aunts: Karen Harris, Janet Ferrara, Lenora Klopchin, Mary White and Kate Scott; her Uncle Gary, and her cousin, Holly.
Born on August 17, 1990, at Columbia Hospital for Women in Washington DC, Taylor graduated from Huntingtown High School in Huntingtown, MD in 2008 after playing a key role in the inaugural four years of its award-winning theater program, Eye of the Storm Productions, directed by Derek Anderson. She went on to study Developmental Psychology and writing at Sarah Lawrence College and graduated in 2012. She earned her master’s degree in writing at The University of Edinburgh in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Taylor loved to travel and in addition to Scotland, she visited the Czech Republic, Germany, Spain, France, England, and Wales.
She supported her schooling and travel by working as a library page, a school tour guide, an administrative assistant, and a nursery school teaching assistant. After graduate school, while battling illness, she was a writing consultant and a writer and coordinator on social media.
Taylor loved Family, Friends, Food and Christmas. In celebration of all of these things, from the age of nine, she would create a Christmas Eve Brunch that became the heart of our Christmas Season.
Taylor never understood how deeply she touched the lives of all who knew her and came to love her. She was our Christmas Elf and our heart and soul, and we will carry her with us always.
